Music at Selborne

At Selborne, children are given the opportunity to develop their musical interest and abilities throughout various activities provided by our school. Our curriculum lessons, which are provided by Sing Education, enable all our children to develop skills in aspects such as listening (and appraising), composing and performing. Children can also develop their knowledge and skills through our weekly singing sessions. Furthermore, instrumental opportunities are available to some of our pupils through peripatetic keyboard, guitar and violin lessons.

We have a thriving choir, in which children enjoy fantastic experiences by performing to various audiences. Recently, we have taken part in a concert with other schools across the country at the OVO Arena in Wembley and they have also performed with other schools in the local area.

We develop our appreciation of music and celebrate it during our, Easter, Christmas and school/class assemblies.

We hope that children can develop a love of music and increase their skills as a musician, at Selborne.
