Learning Support Assistant (SEN) - ARP

SEN LEARNING SUPPORT ASSISTANT (ARP - Additional Resource Provision based)
GRADE 5
PERMANENT POSITION - 31.25 HOURS PER WEEK
Our Additional Resource Provision, attached to our Ofsted Outstanding rated school, meets the needs of 21 pupils with Autism or Social Communication differences. We are seeking to recruit an experienced Learning Support Assistant who has a proven track record of working with pupils with Special Educational Needs, including autism. This role would potentially also suit a Psychology (or similar) graduate who is looking to gain experience for a future career working with neurodivergent children.
You will work in our well-equipped and established ARP and also support pupils as they transition into our mainstream school.
We are looking for someone who:
- Is flexible, pro-active and hands-on.
- Has a proven track record of working with pupils with Special Educational Needs and of delivering a personalised curriculum either in a SEND setting or a mainstream school OR is looking to develop skills and gain experience in SEND.
- Has a degree or minimum Level 3 TA qualified.
- Knowledge of specialist systems e.g. Makaton, PECs and TEAM TEACH to support pupils with SEN.
- Has passion, energy and enthusiasm for this challenge and has excellent organisational and interpersonal skills
- Is experienced in establishing and maintaining good professional relationships.
