Remote Learning
If your child is absent from school due to illness, then we do not set learning for them to complete at home. We want them to rest and recover and return to school as soon as they are well enough to do so. Of course, once they have recovered, they are encouraged to read any books which they have at home, complete their homework set online every Thursday and do some work in their ‘revision guide’ which are sold/given to parents in the Autumn term.
We do not set any home learning for pupils who are taken out of school in term time abroad on holiday. We DO NOT want to facilitate term time ‘holiday’ whatsoever as all school days are for learning at Selborne. Please arrange all holidays/leave abroad in school holiday periods to avoid your child missing out on learning.
We work individually with parents and teachers/nurses from hospital school to set home learning when pupils are undergoing long-term medical treatment (eg. for cancer).
